France's capital city Paris is currently the site of hectic activity as it prepares to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. However, a major health emergency is causing worry among authorities, residents, and visitors. An increasing number of reports claim that the city has been overrun by bed bugs. The blood-sucking pests have reportedly been spotted at the Charles de Gaulle airport, in hotels and rental apartments, and onboard the Paris Metro and high-speed trains.
