‘Respect religion’: UN Chief on Udaipur murder; Killers shifted to Ajmer Jail

- Days after the gruesome murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the incident. His spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said that UN calls for the full respect of all religions and stands for ensuring that different communities can live in harmony and peace globally. The statement comes amidst communal tensions in Rajasthan. Two accused, identified as Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad, with a cleaver hacked Lal to death and posted videos online that said they were avenging an insult to Islam. Both have now been shifted to high-security jail in Ajmer after their judicial custody was extended till July 13. Watch this video for more details.
