Russian troops capture 1st major port city in Ukraine; Kherson residents resist

- In the 2 week-long invasion of Ukraine, Russia has managed to capture the first major port city of Kherson in south Ukraine. The provincial capital of 2,50,000 people is the first significant urban centre to fall into Russian hands. "The (Russian) occupiers are in all parts of the city and are very dangerous," Gennady Lakhuta, head of the regional administration, wrote on messaging service Telegram late Wednesday.
