Virat Kohli, Mirabai Chanu recommended for the Khel Ratna

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medal winning weightlifter Mirabai Chanu's names have been jointly recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the committee. Kohli is the leading light of Indian cricket and could become the third cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni to get India's top sporting honour once the recommendations are formally accepted.
