Virat Kohli’s form has got Sachin Tendulkar’s records in danger

With an away series win of 5-1 against South Africa, Virat Kohli has put his name in the history of Indian cricket. He became the first Indian captain to win a bilateral series in South Africa. He has scored a total of 844 runs in the tour so far and no other batsman even comes close to those runs. The next highest scorer of the tour is Hashim Amla with 357 runs. Virat Kohli also closed in on Sachin Tendulkar's 49th ODI tons record. In the sixth ODI, he notched up his 35th ODI hundred making him just 14 shy of the little master. Kohli's purple patch has been the highlight for India's pure domination in the ODI series in South Africa but one can't look away from the role the Indian spinners played in the series. The spin duo of Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav got 33 wickets in the ODI series. That makes them account for more than 50% of the Proteas wicket. Kohli currently is scoring a ton in less than 7 innings and broke Tendulkar's record of scoring the fastest 500 runs in a calendar year as well.
