Trump attacks India on ‘filthy air’: What do emission rankings reveal?
US President Donald Trump, during the final Presidential Debate, targeted India over climate change calling the air in India 'filthy'. While there is no denying that air pollution in northern Indian is particularly bad in winters, but where President Trump faltered was on US's own track record when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions. America is second on the list after China and ahead of India in the list of countries that emit the most amount of carbon dioxide. However, in terms of per capital ranking, India ranks at #21 while America is at #4, which put simply means that 8 Indians emit as much carbon dioxide as 1 American. News wrap with Vikram Chandra
