Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) rescue helicopters were deployed to the mudslide-hit Gyirong border port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on August 27. The disaster struck after a high-altitude glacier collapse in Nepal triggered a massive flow of ice, rocks, mud and debris toward the China-Nepal border.
Footage showed PLA helicopters surveying the affected area and assessing rescue routes as emergency teams worked to reach people trapped by the disaster.
