Caracas TV turns into war room after US strikes, Venezuela rejects Trump's ‘aggression’ on air

Venezuelan state television aired a statement read by government anchor Vladimir Padrino, saying President Nicolás Maduro remains loyal to the constitution and is acting to protect the Venezuelan people. In the broadcast, the government strongly condemned what it described as a “grave military aggression” by the United States against Venezuelan territory, accusing Washington of attacking civilian and military areas in Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. The statement said the alleged strikes violated the United Nations Charter and threatened peace and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean, putting millions of lives at risk. Venezuelan authorities claimed the objective of the attack was to seize the country’s strategic resources, particularly oil and minerals. Following the statement, the government announced the activation of a “State of External Commotion,” calling for national unity beyond political or ideological differences and urging citizens to remain calm while staying informed through official channels. The anchor also called on the population to mobilize, saying the country’s sovereignty and identity were under threat.
