• Russia's Dmitry Medvedev Predicts Collapse Of 'US-Centric World': Report Dmitry Medvedev said sanctions on Russia will harm the global financial system. Medvedev also predicted that the restrictive measures would harm the global financial system, potentially triggering a monetary and financial crisis in some countries or blocs as a result of the undermining of the stability of a number of national currencies, rampant inflation, and the breakdown of the legal system protecting private property. Medvedev was elected president of Russia in 2008. He was thought to be more liberal than his predecessor, Vladimir Putin, who served as the Prime Minister during Medvedev's term.
