Covid created a billionaire every 30 hours, says Oxfam at Davos

• Shocking report on growing economic divide across the world presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos. As per the rights body Oxfam, the Covid pandemic has created a new billionaire every 30 hours and now one million people could fall into extreme poverty at the same pace. The report states that the billionaires in food & energy sectors increasing their fortunes by $1 billion every 2 days as prices of essential goods are growing much faster post Covid outbreak. Oxfam appealed all the countries at Davos summit to introduce one-off solidarity taxes on billionaires' pandemic profits to help support the poor.
