European NATO nations are weighing the deployment of troops to Ukraine as part of a post-truce security framework following high-level talks in Berlin. Under the newly signed “Berlin Agreement,” European leaders, backed by the UK and the United States, have proposed a European-led Multinational Force Ukraine to help regenerate Ukraine’s armed forces and provide long-term security guarantees. While France and the UK have pushed for troop deployment after a ceasefire, divisions remain within Europe over which countries are willing to contribute forces, even as Washington presses Kyiv to make territorial concessions.
