Fear, panic, helplessness as Taliban take Kabul; Ghani flees Afghanistan

As Taliban entered Kabul on Sunday, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has reportedly left the war-torn country. Tolo News reported that Ghani left after resigning as the President. Taliban had ordered its troops to remain outside the Afghan capital ahead of talks on a peaceful transition of power but the insurgents have now moved inside the city. As news of Taliban takeover spread in Kabul, fear, panic and uncertainty gripped citizens. Independent journalist Kanika Gupta, who has been in Afghanistan for the last 3 months tells HT about how citizens, especially Afghan women are in a state of fear and panic.
