Finland released a dramatic video showing its border guard boarding and seizing the Russian-linked cargo ship Fitburg in the Baltic Sea, accusing the vessel of sabotaging an undersea telecom cable connecting Finland and Estonia. The 132-meter ship, en route from St. Petersburg to Haifa with Russian steel under EU sanctions, allegedly dragged its anchor in Finland’s exclusive economic zone, severing key communications infrastructure on December 31. Authorities detained all 14 crew members, arresting two, and launched probes into aggravated criminal damage and violations of EU sanctions. Watch for more
