How Kyiv is dismantling Soviet monuments symbolising Ukraine-Russia friendship

Kyiv demolished a monument symbolising historic ties between ex-Soviet Ukraine and Russia. According to the city’s mayor, this comes as a response to the Russian invasion. The 27-ft bronze statue depicted a Ukrainian and Russian worker on a plinth holding aloft together a Soviet order of friendship. The statue was located underneath a giant titanium 'People's Friendship Arch' It was erected in 1982 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union. Kyiv's mayor said the place would be renamed as the ‘Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People’. Watch the full video for more.
