India joins Quad in calling-out China; bats for open & free Indo-pacific

- India and its partners in the Quadrilateral Security Group or Quad on Friday reiterated their support to efforts aimed at ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific and agreed to expedite the delivery of Covid-19 vaccines across the region. During their fourth meeting in Melbourne, the foreign ministers of the four members of Quad – India, Australia, Japan and the US – reviewed cooperation in several key areas such as the Covid-19 response, maritime security and the rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific and prepared the ground for the next Quad Leaders Summit to be hosted by Tokyo in the first half of the year.
