Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Egypt of empowering Hamas in an interview with Time magazine. Netanyahu said, "Transfer of weapons and ammunition from the Sinai into Gaza is the main issue." Speaking on the October 7 attack, Netanyahu said his primary mistake over the years was going along with the reluctance of his security cabinet to confront Hamas militarily with Israel's full military force.
