- Another jolt for inflation-hit Pakistanis as petrol prices continue to skyrocket. The Shehbaz Sharif government has once again hiked petrol prices, adding to people's woes. The fresh hike of PKR 1.45/litre has taken the petrol price to a record PKR 237.43/litre. The hike has been attributed to fluctuating global oil prices and exchange rate variations. The recent floods, which submerged one third of Pakistan, killing over 1,500 people, have brought the country on the verge of an economic collapse. Besides the impact of devastating floods, the country also has a lack of funds. Last week, Pakistan's PM was seen publicly lamenting the state of his country's economy. Watch this detailed report to know about the situation in Pakistan.
