Qom on edge: IRGC warns of powerful blasts near Iran’s heavily fortified nuclear mountain, but why?

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that residents of Qom should expect explosion sounds on May 9 due to a planned military munitions disposal operation linked to the recent conflict. According to reports, the operation involves the controlled destruction of unexploded military material in two stages. The development has drawn attention because Qom lies near Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, one of Iran’s most sensitive nuclear facilities, as well as multiple IRGC-linked military sites and logistics hubs.
