Russia's big Zaporizhzhia reveal: Ukraine trying to trigger nuclear chaos by targeting plant personnel?
Published on Jun 27, 2026 02:02 pm IST
Russia has accused Ukraine of increasing attacks around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, with Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev alleging that strikes are targeting plant infrastructure and personnel. According to Russian officials, the attacks are aimed at disrupting operations and placing pressure on workers at Europe's largest nuclear facility. Ukraine has previously rejected similar accusations and has, in turn, accused Russia of militarizing the site and endangering nuclear safety. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) continues to maintain a presence at the plant as concerns persist over the security and safe operation of the nuclear facility.
