Russia's missile storm forces Ukraine to dig up Soviet S-300s as Patriot stocks hit breaking point

As Ukraine faces growing pressure on its air-defense missile stocks, Kyiv and Washington are reportedly exploring ways to revive Soviet-era S-300 systems. The effort could provide additional interceptors for drones, aircraft and cruise missiles while allowing scarce Patriot PAC-3 missiles to remain available for more difficult ballistic threats. Reports suggest Ukraine could potentially refurbish older S-300 missiles or develop new compatible rounds for existing launchers, radars and fire-control systems. With Russia continuing large-scale attacks involving drones and multiple missile types, the revival of the S-300 could help Ukraine expand its air-defense depth and reduce pressure on Western-supplied Patriot systems.
