Despite the arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln, Iran shows no sign of fear, relying on asymmetric warfare to counter U.S. naval power. Experts say Tehran cannot match Washington ship-for-ship, but uses swarm boats, naval mines, Ghadir-class submarines, drones and anti-ship ballistic missiles to threaten carriers in the narrow Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims its Fattah-2 hypersonic missile can evade U.S. defences, while low-cost weapons create an economic advantage over billion-dollar warships.
