The event of a falling meteor seen streaking across the night sky in Thailand on Monday evening has gone viral on the internet. It was witnessed and recorded on dashboard cameras by two local residents in the nation's capital, Bangkok.

Local media reported that the event occurred around 9pm local time (1400 GMT). The Thai Astronomical Society later confirmed on their Facebook page that the falling object was a meteor.
