Singapore's River Festival opened on October 23 with a magnificent'Human Net' performance suspended over the water.
Forty-two performers in white jumpsuits were attached to ropes and lifted about 30 meters above the river in Clark Quay, where they moved to music and made formations.
The participants volunteered to perform in the festival and ranged in age from 14 to their 50s.
La Fura dels Baus, the world-renowned Spanish theatrical group, was behind the idea of the performance for the three-day festival that ends on October 25.
It was sponsored by the country's tourism board to celebrate the city state's 50th anniversary.
