Bangladesh violence highlights: Violence erupted across Bangladesh early Friday after the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, triggering widespread protests, attacks on media offices and street clashes that have left the nation on edge. Protesters hurled stones at the Indian mission in Chattogram amid escalating unrest, BD News reported. Hadi's body arrived in Dhaka from Singapore on Friday evening and his funeral prayer will be held on Saturday at the South Plaza of the Parliament Building at around 2.00 pm (local time).

After he was shot, Hadi was rushed to nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition. Earlier this week, the interim government announced it would airlift Hadi to Singapore for better treatment. However, a statement from the ministry of foreign affairs in Singapore announced on Thursday that the leader had succumbed to his injuries.
Yunus vows justice, urges for restraint
"Today, I came before you with very heartbreaking news. Sharif Osman Hadi, the fearless frontline fighter of the July Uprising and spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, is no more among us," said Yunus in an address to the nation to confirm Hadi's death.
Declaring a one-day state mourning, the Chief Adviser vowed to catch the suspect in the shooting.
“I sincerely call upon all citizens – keep your patience and restraint,” he said, as public outrage grew over the assassination attempt.
Newspaper offices vandalised, set on fire
Amid the public outrage over Hadi's killing, several videos on social media showed protesters setting fire and vanadalising the offices of Daily Prothom Alo and Daily Star, some of the leading newspapers in Dhaka.
Journalists, staff and others inside the buildings also took to social media to confirm the fires and call on the public to stop the violence.
