Iranian parliament speaker warns of US invasion

Iranian Parliament’s Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that Iranian forces were ready for the arrival of US troops. In remarks carried by IRNA news agency, Ghalibaf rebuked Trump for expressing willingness to negotiate with Iran, while “secretly planning a ground attack”.

“The enemy is openly sending a message of negotiation and secretly planning a ground attack,” he was quoted as saying. “Our men are waiting for the arrival of American soldiers on the ground to set them on fire.”

US mulls ground operation in Iran

The Pentagon is preparing for weeks of ground operations in Iran, the Washington Post reported Saturday, citing US officials.

The plans could involve raids by Special Operations and conventional infantry troops, the Post reported. Whether President Donald Trump would approve any of those plans remains uncertain, according to the Post.

The Trump administration has deployed US Marines to the Middle East as the war in Iran stretches into its fifth week, and has also been planning to send thousands of soldiers from the US Army's 82nd Airborne to the region.

Pakistan leads talks to end US-Israel war's on Iran

As the war between US-Israel and Iran completes a month, top diplomats from key regional powers gathered in Pakistan on Sunday to discuss how to end the fighting in the Middle East.

Pakistan said foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt were participating in the talks in Islamabad. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held “extensive discussions” on regional hostilities.
