A ground stop has been issued at Denver International Airport in Colorado due to a tornado warning and severe weather conditions. According to the FAA, flights have been grounded until 6:15 p.m. local time. The disruption comes after a landspout tornado was spotted in Adams County amid ongoing thunderstorms in the area.

{{/usCountry}}The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld, and Yuma Counties. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. MDT Friday.

Denver7 weather forecaster Katie LaSallemain said, “No alerts in place for the metro area, mainly just partly cloudy skies and we could see a few light showers and general thunderstorms roll through. The severe weather risk in the metro and to the west will remain low.”

Weekend Forecast: Hot, Dry Weather Ahead for Denver
After severe storms rolled through the northeastern plains on Friday, Denver is expected to see a hot and mostly dry weekend.
According to Denver7, the city could see its first 90-degree day of the year on Saturday, with temperatures running 7 to 10 degrees above average through the weekend.
While record highs for this time of year hover around 100°F, Denver will likely stay just below that mark.
A few isolated storms may develop on Saturday and Sunday, but those are expected to remain confined to the far Eastern Plains.
