Shocking claims have been made in the Nancy Guthrie case with a self-attested investigator saying her home might be put up for sale. This comes even as private investigator Bill Garcia spoke on a YouTube podcast about how he found a ‘death certificate’ for Nancy Guthrie.

Needless to say, these claims have sparked a buzz online among those tracking the octogenarian's disappearance.
Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing by her family on February 1. Authorities believe she was taken from her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona, the night before.
It has been six months since, and no suspects have been announced to the public by the Pima County Sheriff's Department, who are lead on the case, or the FBI, who are assisting. Nancy Guthrie has not been located either in this time.
Meanwhile, Alexander Zabel Jr, a self-attested investigator who's been tracking the Nancy Guthrie case, made shock claims about the potential sale of her home.

Nancy Guthrie's house to be sold? Shock claims made
{{/usCountry}}Zabel Jr wrote on Facebook that an ‘inside source’ confirmed the Guthrie family are selling Nancy Guthrie's home and it'll be up on the market.
However, there's no official confirmation of the same, and none of the Guthrie family members have communicated any move to sell off Nancy Guthrie's home. HT.com could not independently verify these claims.
PI says he found Nancy Guthrie's death certificate
Zabel Jr's claims come even as a private investigator, Bill Garcia, claimed he had found a death certificate issued for Nancy Guthrie.
Bill Garcia has been a private investigator for over 35 years and is best known in Southern California for solving many difficult missing persons’ cases as per KTLA 5 News. He was speaking on the ThornBridge X Unfiltered show, when he made the claims about Nancy Guthrie's death certificate.
During the interview, Garcia said “when I was doing one of these vetted searches yesterday, I pulled up uh Nancy…we have access to a lot more information than anybody in the general public. And what I noticed in her comprehensive report, there's a box and it listed Nancy Guthrie as deceased.”
He added that he found it ‘interesting’ because one would need a death certificate for that. “And so this particular box said Nancy had expired. She had died. Her date of death was listed as February 1, 2026,” Garcia further said.
The PI noted that this was the same day that Nancy Guthrie was reported missing. “So, my thought is, okay, are we not being told that she's been found and they're continuing their investigations? Could that be why law enforcement is not on the ground searching?,” he further asked. However, Garcia did not make any assumptions about the death certificate. “I will be reaching out to the company who provided this information and I'm going to question them. I'm also going to contact the agency where this should have been filed,” Garcia noted.
Reactions to shock Nancy Guthrie claims
Several people online reacted to the shock claims made in the Nancy Guthrie case. “I don't know how to feel right now if what he says is true,” one wrote. Another added “WELP!!! Funny how the 2nd note speaks of Nancy’s death, which a Judge can use to issue death cert., WHICH can now be used to sell Nancy’s home! WOW! Just WOW! WELL PLAYED GUTHRIE FAMILY!! (IMO) We that truly care about you Nancy, are sorry you’ve been failed!”.
