Kyle Carney took the stand on August 6 in the Lindsay Clancy trial and spoke about the mother accused of killing her three children. Carney is friends with Lindsay's ex-husband, Patrick Clancy.
While Lindsay has not denied killing her children – Cora, Dawson, and Callan, she pleaded not guilty to murder saying she was overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis when she strangled her children. Given the interest in Patrick Clancy amid the trial, Carney has also come into focus for being his friend.

- Carney and his wife, Sarah, are friends with Patrick Clancy.
- Carney hosted Patrick and Lindsay for dinner at his Duxbury home on January 22, 2023.
- Patrick met Carney in college in 2009 and the two have been friends since. He reportedly met Lindsay about 12 years back, before she and Patrick were married.
- He said he gathered with the Clancy family every other month and did not notice any changes in demeanor or behavior. After Callan was born, Carney's family and the Clancy family gathered at the beach over the summer and he went fishing with Patrick at the time. He described not noticing any changes in Lindsay at the time.
- However, when Lindsay and Patrick visited in January 2023, Lindsay seemed quieter than normal to Carney.
