Nathan Brown has been identified as the man who stabbed and killed his wife, Kristen Brown, and their daughter, Evie Brown, in Minnesota's Hopkins home daycare. The incident took place on Wednesday morning and Nathan attacked his family before killing himself.
The Hennepin County search warrant obtained by the Associated Press identified Nathan Brown. After stabbing his wife and kid in the daycare Kristen operated out of the family's basement in Hopkins, a Minneapolis suburb, Nathan then shot himself in a closet upstairs. - Nathan Brown, 41, was reportedly having issues with his 41-year-old wife Kristen. As per a report, about two weeks prior to the stabbing, Kristen had told daycare parents she was shutting the business due to relationship issues with her husband.
- Nathan is suspected of killing a 78-year-old female relative in Burnsville on Wednesday as well.
- A man who was dropping his kids off at daycare saw Nathan with a ‘screwdriver in his hand’ stabbing Kristen and the couple's daughter, Evie.
- Nathan Brown had two petty misdemeanors, as per TwinCities.com. He had operated a snowmobile on a state rail without a permit in 2011 and fished without a license in 2015.

{{/usCountry}}“I come from a small town in rural South Dakota. I realized early on that I loved working with children. It is a truly rewarding experience to watch them learn and grow. I started babysitting when I was 10 years old, which progressed to a regular, every other weekend position that I held until I was 14. I was also able to work in my mother's family child care center when I turned 12,” she wrote.
“No matter what other jobs I held, I always wound up back working with kids. I have been a lead teacher in infant and toddler rooms in large centers. I had my own home daycare back in South Dakota, where I began taking classes for my CDA (Child Development Associate). I was also a nanny for several years,” Kristen added.
“In 2010 I graduated from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education Foundations. I also attained a minor in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences which focused on how children learn and develop. The last four years before starting Brown Bear, I was working as a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist. This profession allowed me to work with people of all ages infant to senior. In addition to improving vision, this position allowed me to work with reading and learning skills, memory, gross motor, hand-eye coordination, and primitive reflexes. I find it very intriguing how working with the whole child or adult makes the greatest difference in learning, memory, and quality of life. In October 2018, I had my own child. As much as I loved my previous positions, I believe that it is time to return to child care so that I can be home with her. I plan to take all the skills that I have learned in my journey and use them help my daughter and those children (who will hopefully become life-long friends) blossom into happy, intelligent, caring individuals,” she further said.
