Gabon Prime Minister Jean Eyeghe Ndong Monday denied reports that the country's President Omar Bongo Ondimba had died in a hospital in Barcelona. He said Bongo, Africa's longest serving leader, was "alive and well".

Jean Eyeghe Ndong was speaking to the reporters at the private Quiron clinic in Barcelona, where several sources had said Bongo was being treated for advanced cancer.
