Amarinder promises free treatment for cancer patients in Punjab

He announced that the Congress government will provide free treatment to cancer patients in Punjab.

“It is double whammy for the families as on the one hand, they lose their near and dear ones and on the other, they go financially broke as the cancer treatment is very expensive,” he said, adding that the cancer patients’ treatment will be state’s responsibility.

Replying to a question by Swaran Singh, whose grandson was shot dead during the protests against the Bargari sacrilege, he promised justice to the victims.

Speaking on the AAP, he said that Punjab should be managed by Punjabis. He dared Arvind Kejriwal to contest election from any constituency of Punjab. He said that he will contest against him and defeat him from the place he wishes to contest.

On allegations made by opposition regarding his lean attendance in the parliament, Captain said that he might not be attending parliament as he was never interested in Delhi politics but he has been working for Punjab.
