With an aim to focus on new and emerging works by Indian artists who have carved a niche for themselves internationally, The Park’s New Festival is back in its seventh edition. The festival saw a performance by a Chennai-based theatre group that calls itself the Stray Factory.

With an aim to focus on new and emerging works by Indian artists who have carved a niche for themselves internationally, The Park’s New Festival is back in its seventh edition. The festival that opened in the Capital on September 13, saw a performance by a Chennai-based theatre group that calls itself the Stray Factory.

Ranging from a dance duet by NH7 that will capture the chaotic life of city people, to short plays by Stray Factory, a network of actors, writers, artists and musicians, the festival is a celebration of different art forms.

Today, the festival will see a contemporary dance performance by NH7. Performed by the KHA Foundation, the act will highlight the intricate, confused and rapid urbanisation of India.

“India has a rich heritage that boasts of cultural endowments and an emerging art scenario. In keeping with our commitment to promote contemporary art and culture, we’re back with the seventh edition of the festival. This year, the platform will be open for both international and local artists who will present excellent pieces of engaging acts,” says Priya Paul of Park Hotel.
