Punk rock icons the Sex Pistols will reunite for the first time in four years to play a single London show in November, the band said on Tuesday.
The November 8 concert at the Brixton Academy is being billed as a 30th anniversary celebration of their ground-breaking 1977 album, Never Mind the Bollocks - Here's the Sex Pistols.
But guitarist Steve Jones, a Los Angeles resident for more than 20 years, sounded distinctly underwhelmed when he mentioned the show on his midday radio show.
"Big deal," he said. "Nice to be over there at four in the evening when it's dark, fog and cold. Getting mugged in Brixton. Can't wait."
The Sex Pistols were one of the best-known English rock bands to emerge from the short-lived punk revolution in the mid-1970s. Four bored kids with limited musical ability, they swore on live television, got beaten up and perfectly captured the malaise sweeping Britain.
Never Mind the Bollocks, powered by such caustic singles as 'Anarchy In The UK' and 'God Save The Queen,' topped the UK charts in October 1977. But the band broke up the following January during a disastrous American tour.
Jones, along with singer John Lydon, drummer Paul Cook, and original bass player Glen Matlock -- who had been replaced by the late Sid Vicious in February 1977 -- reunited in 1996 for a world tour. They also toured North America in 2003.
