As the city gets ready to bask in the festival of lights soon, a four-day festival, Isha Utsav, aims to light up the lives of Delhiites by showcasing an assortment of eco-friendly handicrafts, followed by guided meditation techniques, soulful Sufi music and sumptuous yet healthy snacks.

“Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights. It is also a celebration of clarity and enlightenment. May this Diwali be not just a festival of lights, but also a celebration of taking a step towards enlightenment,” says Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder, Isha Foundation, which is organising the fest.

On display will be a visual treat of eco-friendly handicrafts prepared by rural tribes in Tamil Nadu. From decorative bamboo baskets, metal lamps that spread positive energy, trendy and stylish jute bags to tea coasters, table mats and incense sticks, there is lots to choose from if you are looking for organic gift options this Diwali between `100 to `5,000. “We are trying to create sustainable living by reviving traditional crafts and bringing them to the cities,” says Maa Ekisha, a volunteer.

If music be the food for soul, there’s a lot of that, too. “We look forward to playing some original compositions along with famous sufi numbers,” says Ashish Chhabra, founder, Jazba, a Delhi-based sufi band that’s performing.
