In recent years, several art galleries have set up shop in Mumbai, showcasing a variety of artwork. At the same time, art has repeatedly stepped out of the confines of these galleries, making itself more accessible to the public. For instance, cinemagoers can feast their eyes on miniatures and portraitures at a mall in Kurla; commuters can maybe take a quick photograph of the massive Baby Head installation at Nariman Point.
As artist Lekha Washington's installations find their way to a mall in Lower Parel, we look at the most prominent installations at some prime locations around Mumbai.

Talking about her creations, Washington says, "We have been working with helium and inflatables for over a year now. One of the installations, Old Love, took around eight months from conceptualisation to realisation. It speaks of long-term relationships, such as those with parents, or with a spouse. The things that seem to sometimes hold us back, actually set us free."

Quinn's Leap Of Faith is a metaphor for positive living. One Indiabulls Center also houses an art gallery. You can either pay a visit to the art space to check out the artist's works, or stroll down the lobby area.

The Flying Bus at Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (E)Even after three years of being unveiled, artist Sudarshan Shetty's bright red bus with silver wings regularly makes appearances on Instagram and Facebook newsfeeds. Shetty has often, in interviews, said that the installation is his tribute to the city he grew up in.

Baby Head at Nariman PointInstalled last year, it is impossible for any passerby to miss this huge sculpture of an infant'shead. Artist Chintan Upadhyay's fiberglass head features quintessential Mumbai motifs including the 26/11 terror attacks, Vada Pav, and more.

Art Horizons at Phoenix Marketcity, KurlaSeveral artists have joined hands to beautify the premises of this Kurla mall. One of the art installations, Tap Of Life, stands for the shortage of water supply in the city. Artists Rajendra Chavan and Mukesh Mestry have used a camel as a symbol of water storage. Kanika Bawa's The Flying Man represents new challenges that citizens take on every day. The mall also houses Chandrakanth Ganacharya's portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Che Guevara and Pablo Picasso.
