No toll tax on DND flyway, rules Allahabad high court

The ride between Delhi and Noida on the DND Flyway became toll-free after the Allahabad high court on Wednesday ordered the private concessionaire to stop collecting user-fee from commuters, saying they were being illegally taxed.

Jat stir: Haryana govt ‘ignored’ alerts on possible violence

More than 100 intelligence alerts were allegedly ignored by the Haryana government since June last year, leading to largescale violence in February during a fortnight-long agitation by Jats seeking reservation in government jobs, multiple sources told HT.

Noida commuters stuck in traffic jams due to I-Day preparations

Commuters were facing a harrowing time on Noida roads on Thursday as the Delhi Police have prohibited entry of heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) in the city from Wednesday midnight till 2 pm on Thursday. The restriction has been imposed in view of the rehearsal of the Independence Day parade on August 13.

Consumer court awards Gurgaon flat owners Rs 33cr for faulty elevators

In a landmark ruling, a consumer court has ordered realty firm Ambience Infrastructure to pay Rs 33.38 crore to a group of flat owners in Gurgaon for installing sub-standard elevators and failing to maintain them despite charging them for it.
