The police on Tuesday arrested eight persons from two groups in connection with tension that erupted after posters of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi were torn apart by a group of people in one of sensitive areas of the city- Sikandi Sarai near Bhopal railway station late on Monday.
The posters were carrying welcome message with photograph of Owaisi and his supporters. The posters were pasted at walls of some shops situated in front of platform number-1 of Bhopal railway station.
At about 11.30 pm, a group of people tore all the posters. This led to unrest in the area, as the people who had pasted the posters damaged several shops.
On getting information, senior police officers along with additional police force rushed to the spot. Deployment of heavy police force remained throughout the night to avoid any untoward incident.
Town inspector (TI) of Bajaria police station, T Sapre said that cases were registered on the complaint of both the groups under sections 147, 149 and 427 of IPC and eight persons had been arrested. Though, they were later released on bail.
He further said a person identified as Naresh Sen and his three accomplices including Mataroo and Dharmendra had torn the posters. Thereafter, four persons identified as Naved, Shanu, Atul and Moolchand, who belong to another group, damaged four to five shops.

{{/usCountry}}“It was dispute of two groups. Both sides had held a meeting on Tuesday morning and they have settled the issue. All eight accused have been arrested and released on bail,” said T Sapre.
