Bhopal: 90% clear CBSE exam; humanities student Parul shines with 97% marks

Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar, student Parul Palod has scored the highest marks in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 examination in Bhopal. The result for the examination was announced on Monday afternoon.

A student of humanities, Palod scored 97% marks. Just behind her is Delhi Public School student Prakhar Jain with 96.8% marks (science stream). Carmel Convent School student Aarushi Kothari of commerce steam secured the third rank with 96.6 %.

Though the central board does not declare officially announce the toppers’ list, according to information provided by the CBSE-affiliated schools in Bhopal, an average of 90% students cleared the Class 12 examination from the state capital.

The top ten positions have been occupied by as many as 22 students and of them 14 are girls.

Science stream students, especially 13 students having mathematics, have made it to the toppers list, while there are only four students from the commerce stream.

The commerce stream students till last year were leading in the merit list.

“Many students had opted for the newly introduced legal studies subject, but this option did not do much good to them,” he said.
