Finally taking cognizance of Lokayukta charge-sheet against dismissed IAS officers Arvind Joshi, Tinoo Joshi and other co-accused in a disproportionate assets case, the special Lokayukta court here sent all the accused present in the court to jail while issuing arrest warrant against the remaining accused including Arvind and Tinoo, who were absent during hearing of the case on Thursday.

The court sent to jail alleged business partners of Joshi couple SP Kohli, his sons Simant Kohli and Harsh Kohli, insurance agent Seema Jaiswal and her husband Santosh Jaiswal and liquor trader Pradeep Agrawal.

Arvind Joshi and Tonoo Joshi, who have skipped all the hearings of the case so far, were not present in the court on Thursday either.

Special Lokayukta judge Dinesh Mishra issued arrest warrants against Arvind Joshi, Tinoo Joshi, Arvind's sister Vibha and Abha Joshi, Delhi-based stamp vendor Pradeep Jain and his clerk and Guwahati-based builder Sridev Sharma.

While Arvind and Tinoo had bought property in the name of his two sisters, who are married in the US, Jain and his clerk have been prosecuted for allegedly making a forged agreement showing that Joshi couple had sold their house in Delhi for Rs 3 crore so as to justify presence of Rs three crore cash in their house during income tax raid at their official residence in 2010. Guwahati-based builder Sridev Sharma was booked in the case as he allegedly gave six flats to Joshi couple in Gowhati.
