Leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare and deputy leader Bala Bachchan have been given time till September 18 for replying to breach of privilege notice. This was decided in a meeting of privilege committee held in state assembly on Wednesday.

Notices were served on Katare and Bachchan for breach of privilege in two matters by state legislative affairs minister Narottam Mishra, forest minister Gauri Shankar Shejwar and MLA Shankarlal Tiwari.

One notice for breach in privilege was served for bringing kamandal and ghanta (bell) inside the House during last assembly session. Another notice was issued for presenting false details about Ritu Chouhan’s selection in state PSC (Public Service Commission) exam. Ritu Chouhan is niece of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The letter to Congress leaders was sent after privilege committee meeting on August 20. Katare and Bachchan had asked for more time to file reply. The meeting held on Wednesday decided to give more time to the leaders and hold next meeting on September 22.
