Guest lecturers who were cane-charged by the police after they tried to enter the BJP headquarters on Monday will lodge a complaint with the Human Rights and Women Commission.
The lecturers were trying to meet the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah. The police booked about a dozen of them.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, guest lecturers association president Leena Dubey said, “We were trying to meet Amit Shah peacefully but BJP workers and the police misbehaved and used force against us.”
The association secretary Suryakant Shukla said, “We have been staging protests for the past few months demanding regularisation of our services but no one is listening to us. We have served the state for the past 10-15 years but the government has an apathetic attitude towards us.”
“A new academic session has begun but the government is not resolving the issue. For the past two decades, the government didn't hold a recruitment drive and now, by changing the rule of recruitment, they are going to hold a recruitment drive. We want a solution to this problem,” he said.
Guest lecturers have called a bandh of the additional directors' office on July 20. Guest lecturers will also take the protest to colleges of Madhya Pradesh with the help of students.
