A case under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Jyoti Dhurvey and MP at Betul court on Tuesday.
According to sources, a social worker Manish Namdev had lodged a complaint at Kotwali against the BJP MP of Betul-Harda-Harsood constituency on the Republic Day.
During the hearing of the case, judicial magistrate first class Anand Jambulkar ordered to register a case under the Act against Dhurvey, former bank chairman Basant Makode and bank general manager Lata Krishnan.
Namdev said the bank had removed the employee who had tied national flag in a wrong way on January 26, 2014. The bank management had also served the notice to some employees. Namdev said when the management did not take the matter seriously then he went to the court.
Complainant’s counsel Girish Garg said a court ordered to register a case under prevention of insults to national honour Act, 1971. The accused convicted under the Act is awarded imprisonment for three years, now the accused will be served notice.
