The child Raghav fell into a borewell at village Hargangoli of the district on Sunday.

The rescue operation started on Sunday morning itself when the district administration swung into action.

On Monday, Army and National Disaster Management personnel joined the rescue operation.

The rescue team was expected to complete its operation by the afternoon but water seepage in the tunnel being dug to reach the child proved a hurdle for the entire team.

On Monday evening, it was estimated that it would take 12 to 14 hours further to take out the child from the borewell, said official sources.

The child, Raghav was playing near a farm when he suddenly fell into the 38-feet deep borewell.

Sources also claimed that tunnel which was earlier dug by the rescue team was dug in a wrong direction. Now, the rescue team was digging another tunnel to reach the child.

Superintendent of police (SP) Morena, Vineet Khanna said rescue teams were trying hard to save the boy. The leakage of water in the tunnel being made by rescue teams was affecting the rescue work, he said.

A good number of villagers are gathered at the site and they are praying for safe recovery of the child.

The rescue team was desperately trying to wind up the operation in a speedy manner and get to the child but seepage of water aggravated their problem.

Though people are getting disappointed with passage of time there is still a ray of hope that child would be rescued, said some local people.
