These revelations were made when police interrogated Komal Pandey, who was recently arrested for running a racket regarding admission in medical colleges. She told police that there are agents who contact the aspirants and the money reaches the college authorities in cash.

“Besides, she has claimed of getting admissions to over a dozen youths in MBBS course this year. However, these claims are yet to be substantiated or verified,” said a police official, who is part of the team that interrogated her.

“She says that in some colleges, the management is not only fully aware, but is also a part of this syndicate. The seats are up for sale in PG courses and there are similar rates for admission in MBBS also,” the official added.

Pandey was caught recently on the complaint of a Haryana based person, who had allegedly paid the money for his son’s admission in medical college, but Pandey’s promise hadn’t materialised.

She was arrested and then produced in court. Subsequently, she was taken on police remand. During interrogation, Pandey, who had a flashy lifestyle, has made a list of revelations. She is currently in police custody and is being interrogated.
