A team of Special Task Force (STF) will soon visit Delhi to record the statement of whistleblower Prashant Pandey in connection with the complaint lodged by former chief minister Digvijaya Singh that excel sheets from the hard disc of PEB scam accused Nitin Mahindra's computer was tampered with.

In his statement to the STF, which is conducting a probe into Singh's complaint, the Congress general secretary has claimed that he received "digital evidence" from computer expert Pandey, who was earlier working for the STF.

The STF summoned Pandey on Saturday and asked him to report to its headquarters in three days. Pandey, however, moved an application in the Delhi high court on Monday.

The court restrained the STF from arresting the whistleblower or summoning him for interrogation.

The HC ordered that Pandey would be interrogated in Delhi, if necessary, in the presence of his counsels and if the STF will arrest Pandey, it would be considered as contempt of court.

"Though, we are yet to receive the court order, through media reports we came to know that the court has ordered to record Pandey's statement in presence of his counsels. We will soon visit Delhi after receiving the court's order," said an STF officer.
