Protests continue to plague BJP in Bhopal, Sagar

Protests against official candidates of the BJP continued on Wednesday as well with BJP workers from Khujner in Rajgarh district holding a demonstration at BJP headquarters in Bhopal on Wednesday.

Protests against official candidates of the BJP continued on Wednesday as well with BJP workers from Khujner in Rajgarh district holding a demonstration at BJP headquarters, Deen Dayal Bhawan in Bhopal on Wednesday evening.

A group of BJP workers led by Pankaj Sharma reached the BJP headquarters and shouted slogans against the official BJP candidate from Khujner nagar panchayat, Rajesh Julaniya, alleging that corruption had taken place in ticket distribution. They also said that the candidate is not an active member of the BJP. The protesters met senior BJP leader Tapan Bhaumik and narrated their woes to him. The matter was then referred to the appeal committee.

Chhatarpur MLA Lalita Yadav, who has been protesting distribution of party nominations in the district, also met CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan at his residence on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, protests against candidature of Abhay Durrey, who has been given BJP nomination for the post of mayor of Sagar municipal corporation, continued for the second day.

Govind Jadiya also filed his nomination as rebel BJP candidate for the post of Sagar mayor. Another BJP leader from Sagar, Raj Bahadur Singh, who is close to minister Bhupendra Singh and was a contender for the mayoral ticket, also filed his nomination as rebel BJP candidate in Sagar.

In Bina, six people filed their nominations as BJP candidates for the post of president of Bina municipality even as the BJP had declared Nitu Rai as the official candidate. Those who filed their nomination included former Bina MLA Vinod Panthi.
