Protests against official candidates of the BJP continued on Wednesday as well with BJP workers from Khujner in Rajgarh district holding a demonstration at BJP headquarters, Deen Dayal Bhawan in Bhopal on Wednesday evening.
A group of BJP workers led by Pankaj Sharma reached the BJP headquarters and shouted slogans against the official BJP candidate from Khujner nagar panchayat, Rajesh Julaniya, alleging that corruption had taken place in ticket distribution. They also said that the candidate is not an active member of the BJP. The protesters met senior BJP leader Tapan Bhaumik and narrated their woes to him. The matter was then referred to the appeal committee.
Chhatarpur MLA Lalita Yadav, who has been protesting distribution of party nominations in the district, also met CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan at his residence on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, protests against candidature of Abhay Durrey, who has been given BJP nomination for the post of mayor of Sagar municipal corporation, continued for the second day.
The BJP workers torched the effigy of Sagar MLA Shailendra Jain at Gwaltoli near Sagar bus stand on Wednesday evening. Sources said that the protesters were supporters of Govind Jadiya, president of Sarafa Association, who was also a contender for the Sagar mayor's candidature. They also took out a rally from Bada Bazaar to Teen Batti in Sagar. The sarafa also remained closed for half day. On Tuesday evening, when Abhay Durrey was announced as candidate, dissatisfied BJP workers torched the effigy of Sagar MLA Shailendra Jain.

In Bina, six people filed their nominations as BJP candidates for the post of president of Bina municipality even as the BJP had declared Nitu Rai as the official candidate. Those who filed their nomination included former Bina MLA Vinod Panthi.
