Age no bar for Bollywood

In the coming days, a number of Bollywood releases will have big stars romancing heroines less than half their age. Sunny Deol will be seen with the Urvashi Rautela (19) in Singh Saab The Great and Akshay Kumar will romance Shraddha Kapoor (21) in Gabbar.

When the 20-something heroines Deepika Padukone and Asin made their debuts with stars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan (both in their 40s) in Om Shanti Om (2007) and Ghajini (2008) respectively, their age difference became the talk of the town, yet both the films turned out to be blockbusters.

We are again going to see a number of big stars romance girls who are even less than half their age in some upcoming films. Sunny Deol will be seen with the 19-year-old Urvashi Rautela in Singh Saab The Great. But the young debutant is least worried, and vouches for the chemistry she believes she shares with Deol. “I’m being a professional. Age is just a number. When you’ll watch the movie, you’ll see great chemistry between us,” she says. We take a look at other such pairings, where the age gap is of no concern.
