Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Rana Kapoor, chief mentor, Yes Foundation, felicitated the top 10 social filmmakers at the Yes! i am the Change film festival on October 2.

This is the maiden project of the Yes Foundation, the social development arm of Yes Bank, that encourages youngsters to contribute to India’s social growth by making relevant films. The project was launched in August this year with 500 teams comprising 2,100 participants across the country. The top 60 films from the ones submitted are now being screened at the festival currently held at the Nehru Centre, Worli.

Eminent personalities like Shaheen Mistri, Prahlad Kakkar, Kailash Surendranath, Harish Iyer, among others, have been mentors to the young filmmakers, and are conducting seminars at the festival. Talking at the event, Kapoor said, “Yes! i am the Change is deeply rooted in the conviction that each one of us can make a little difference around us. I am extremely pleased that our pilot initiative has received a heart-warming response from the youth all over the country.”

Amitabh Bachchan said, “It is my pleasure to be part of the Yes! i am the Change Social Film Festival. The young filmmakers have showcased immense creativity and strongly communicated the message of their partner NGOs through their respective movies. My heartiest congratulations to the Yes Foundation and Mr Rana Kapoor on this unique initiative.”
