Amitabh's Shamitabh nets Rs 8.25 cr in opening weekend earnings

Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Shamitabh has picked up Rs 8.25 crore in the opening weekend. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted its India business figures.
The film marks director R Balki's third outing with Amitabh Bachchan, after Cheeni Kum and Paa. It also stars Dhanush and debutante Akshara Haasan, the younger daughter of Tamil legend Kamal Haasan.
Shamitabh is the story of a 'has-been' voice artist and a mute actor and how a journalist gets the two to work together. What sets out to be a hit team soon turns ugly when ego sets in.
It is also the first Bollywood film to be shot in Finland. The film also features a very hummable number Piddly, sung by Amitabh Bachchan.
