Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby not only churned big moolah at the box office (like most Akshay movies), it also impressed critics and fans alike. Reports now claim that filmmaker Neeraj Pandey is all set for a sequel to the movie that starred Taapse Pannu in the lead role.

A DNA report quoted a source as saying, “Yes, it’s true. Neeraj is planning a sequel to Baby and everything is being worked out. The script has been finalised.”
Interestingly, the focus of the sequel will be Taapse’s character, and not Akshay’s. “Baby 2 will revolve around Taapsee Pannu’s character. The story will show the backstory of how she eventually became a special agent and will mainly be about her secret mission this time. Taapsee will have a powerful action role,” the source added.
The source also said that Akshay has promised a guest appearance in the film. It was Akshay’s idea to have a female protagonist for Baby 2. “He loved what Taapsee had done in that hotel action sequence in Baby and he asked Neeraj to go ahead with her,” the source told the tabloid.
Hindustan Times could not independently verify the reports.
Akshay Kumar is currently working on Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 2.
